    Mechanical characteristics and deformation law of tunnel in diatomite considering various softening conditions

    At present, the research considering multi-factor softening conditions is rarely performed, and the research on the deformation law and mechanical properties of the tunnel in diatomite is even rarer. Diatomite is easy to soften in water, and its physical and mechanical properties change greatly after softening. Therefore, take the high-speed railway tunnel that passes through the diatomite stratum in East China as an example, considering various softening conditions (including softening degree and softening position), the deformation law and mechanical characteristics of the tunnel are obtained, and corresponding suggestions are also put forward according to different softening conditions. The results show that the deformation law and mechanical characteristics of the tunnel are greatly affected by the symmetry of softening part. The deformation of the inverted arch caused by the lower surrounding rock softening of the tunnel is the largest, and the maximum stress occurs at the arch foot when the upper surrounding rock of the tunnel softens. Different softening degrees and positions have a great influence on the mechanical characteristics and deformation law of the tunnel. The results obtained in this paper may provide some important references for similar projects in the future

    This paper, based on the concept of holistic tourism development, explores the interplay between holistic tourism and urban renewal, with a focus on Chengdu as the research subject. It analyzes the impact of organic urban renewal on the construction of tourism demonstration areas. Through field investigations and data analysis, this paper summarizes Chengdu’s successful experiences in urban renewal and tourism demonstration area construction, and presents policy recommendations for dissemination to other cities. The research results provide strong support for the implementation of holistic tourism models while offering insights for the sustainable development of urban renewal

    Comparison of σ-Hole and π-Hole Tetrel Bonds in Complexes of Borazine with TH3F and F2TO/H2TO (T=C,Si,Ge)

    The complexes between borazine and TH3F/F2TO/H2TO (T=C, Si, Ge) are investigated with high-level quantum chemical calculations. Borazine has three sites of negative electrostatic potential: the N atom, the ring center, and the H atom of the B-H bond, while TH3F and F2TO/H2TO provide the σ-hole and π-hole, respectively, for the tetrel bond. The N atom of borazine is the favored site for both the σ and π-hole tetrel bonds. Less stable dimers include a σ-tetrel bond to the borazine ring center and to the BH proton. The π-hole tetrel-bonded complexes are more strongly bound than aretheirσ-hole counterparts. Due to the coexistence of both T···N tetrel and B···O triel bonding, the complexes of borazine with F2TO/H2TO (T= Si and Ge) are very stable, with interaction energies up to -108 kcal/mol. The strongly bonded complexes are accompanied by substantial net charge transfer from F2TO/H2TO to borazine. Polarization energy makes a contribution comparable with electrostatic for the moderately or strongly bonded complexes but is small in their weaker analogues

    Carbene Triel Bonds Between TrR3 (Tr=B, Al) and N-Heterocyclic Carbenes

    The carbene triel bond is predicted and characterized by theoretical calculations. The C lone pair of N‐heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) is allowed to interact with the central triel atom of TrR3 (Tr = B and Al; R = H, F, Cl, and Br). The ensuing bond is very strong, with an interaction energy of nearly 90 kcal/mol. Replacement of the C lone pair by that of either N or Si weakens the binding. The bond is strengthened by electron‐withdrawing substituents on the triel atom, and the reverse occurs with substitution on the NHC. However, these effects do not strictly follow the typical pattern of F \u3e Cl \u3e Br. The TrR3 molecule suffers a good deal of geometric deformation, requiring on the order of 30 kcal/mol, in forming the complex. The R(C···Tr) bond is quite short, for example, 1.6 Å for Tr = B, and shows other indications of at least a partially covalent bond, such as a high electron density at the bond critical point and a good deal of intermolecular charge transfer

    Concurrent nephrotic syndrome and acute renal failure caused by chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL): a case report and literature review

    Kidney injury associated with lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is typically caused by direct tumor infiltration which occasionally results in acute renal failure. Glomerular involvement presenting as proteinuria or even nephrotic syndrome is exceptionally rare. Here we report a case of 54-year-old male CLL patient with nephrotic syndrome and renal failure. The lymph node biopsy confirmed that the patients had CLL with remarkable immunoglobulin light chain amyloid deposition. The renal biopsy demonstrated the concurrence of AL amyloidosis and neoplastic infiltration. Combined treatment of fludarabine, cyclophosphamide and rituximab resulted in remission of CLL, as well as the renal disfunction and nephrotic syndrome, without recurrence during a 12-month follow-up. To our knowledge, this is the first case of CLL patient showing the nephrotic syndrome and acute renal failure caused by AL amyloidosis and neoplastic infiltration. Though AL amyloidosis caused by plasma cell dyscrasia usually responses poorly to chemotherapy, this patient exhibited a satisfactory clinical outcome due to successful inhibition of the production of amylodogenic light chains by combined chemotherapy
